Vitrified vs Granite Flooring: Which Should You Choose?
If you’re planning a construction package, one of the first real decisions you’ll make is flooring — and for most independent houses and villas in Bangalore, that decision comes down to vitrified tiles or granite.
Vitrified tiles are manufactured, low-porosity tiles that resist staining and water absorption well, come in a wide range of finishes (including options that mimic natural stone), and are generally easier to maintain day to day. They’re also more consistent in appearance from piece to piece, since they’re factory-produced rather than cut from natural stone.
Granite is a natural stone, which means every slab has genuine, one-of-a-kind veining and pattern — something vitrified tiles can only approximate. It’s extremely hard-wearing and has been a long-standing choice for Indian homes precisely because it holds up to decades of use. It typically needs periodic sealing to maintain its resistance to staining, which is worth factoring into long-term maintenance.
In practice, the choice often comes down to budget and personal preference rather than one being objectively "better" — both are durable, appropriate choices for a home in Bangalore’s climate. Our standard construction packages offer both as a straightforward choice at the outset, with the same quality inspection process either way, so you’re not locked into a decision without seeing the actual rate difference first.
Whichever you choose, ask to see the specific brand and grade being quoted — flooring quality varies significantly within both categories, and a written quotation should name the actual brand, not just "vitrified" or "granite" as a generic line item.
